I
am with you, John. Elvis is king. He was the king of singers, not
just of Rock 'n' Roll.
Connie
Francis is Queen. The pity is, they never sang a duet. The world
really lost out there.
Did
you take a photo of where you saw Elvis standing?
Elvis
is king because his singing never abused his voice; because in his
songs, he used a wide healthy range of harmonious vocal sound. His
Christian hymns, more than his Rock songs, reveal his voice had
depths that no other Rock singer has demonstrated, so far. I find his
Christian hymns more spiritual than Church Choir renditions.
Church
Choir singing is all about the heights of exquisite aesthetics to
which religious belief can be taken, whereas hymns sung by Elvis are
expressions of deep belief in eternal truths.
You're
an onstage Actor and a Director, John! Me, too, a few times. For a
class assignment many years ago, we had to 'remake' any of
Shakespeare's plays. I did "A Midsummer Night's Dream, a
sequel."
The
professor said mine is funnier than Shakespeare's. I could send you a
free copy. If you do not agree with the professor, I will donate
$20.00 in your name to your hometown's Animal Humane Society. Fair
enough?
