When I was a teenager, fear of hurting someone, making mistakes, or doing something wrong terrified me—until my diagnosis of anxiety and OCD.

From that moment, my family and I began searching for the cause and the best treatment for recovery from this illness.

I had been seeing different doctors since I was 13.

They prescribed medications, but they caused side effects that disrupted my hormones.

During this period, the doctors only gave me medications instead of the behavioral therapy that I really needed.

I am an active and ambitious person; behavioral therapy could have helped me a lot to be okay again, but that was missing.

When I reached university, I decided to stop therapy and tried to discover what my talents and passions were as well as travel to meet new people and try new things.

During this period of self-discovery, I realized I could [write, draw, and other talents].

But unfortunately, throughout my journey I encountered a massive situation: Doctors diagnosed my mother with a tough disease that affected our home life for a long time.

My anxiety came back again and reached a high level. I decided to visit a new psychiatrist.

I began therapy with him, but after 7 months I found out that I hadn’t received the proper therapy,
And once again, the medication negatively affected my body.

I felt overwhelmed. Desperate to silence my anxiety. I took more than eight capsules.

I went to the hospital, and I was treated well .

After leaving the hospital, I was heartbroken. I prayed to God to send someone to help me on this journey to heal from OCD.

But two things have always guided me through life: purpose and prayer.

As a person, I always want to make an impact before death. I believe that I have a role and I can do impactful actions for myself and others with support from God.

I don’t want to give up through the tough situations, I always still have hope.

For these reasons, I searched a lot for a doctor until finally I met a unique one.

He helped me a lot in changing my ideas and some of my perspectives.

He took me on a journey using behavioral therapy. He taught me to accept myself and showed me that I can do more things and heal from this illness.

The doctor shared his past struggles and how he overcame them.

So, for me, he became a brave role model who helped me heal from the things I struggled with.”

Around the same time, I joined Ihsan Academy.

The academy was like a lamp that illuminated hidden parts of my life.”

This academy taught me that everyone is unique and has role before death.

The strengths coach taught us that everyone in this world is a speacial and has extraordinary talents — but everyone needs to discover them.

This academy blended spiritual science with positive sociology.

This combination helped me to change my mindset and expand my knowledge.

Finally, through my life experience, I see my life with fresh eyes.

I have realized that everyone is unique, every person can do the things he or she wants — even through pain.

So please remember: “You were not created for no reason.”

But to achieve your goals, you need to make a big effort, because life is not always easy.

You will meet bad people and good people, maybe you will lose something and gain something else.

And lastly, you need an enormous power outside of yourself to support you and take care of you.

So, you need to pray to God to guide you in life, because people aren’t stable in your life — they will die.

And the most important tools that helped me on this journey are prayer, faith, and perseverance.

Now I know that everyone who helped me in my life — all of them were a gift from God.

Ultimately, I want to thank God, myself for my perseverance, my family, and everyone who helped me.
