Chapter 1: The Arrival of Mia

It was a regular Monday morning when the new girl, Mia, walked into the classroom. She had long, sleek hair, a vintage leather jacket, and a mysterious golden notebook she carried everywhere.

“Whoa, she’s like, too cool,” Vicky whispered to Ju-Ling as they watched her sit down in the front row.

Addy, on the other hand, practically fell out of her chair when Mia gave her a small smile. “Hey, I’m Mia. I heard you’re pretty fun. Wanna hang out at lunch?”

Addy’s heart skipped a beat. “Y-Yes! Of course! I’m so excited.”

Ju-Ling raised an eyebrow. “Hmm. Something feels off about this girl.”

Vicky nodded. “Yeah, she’s too cool for her own good. I’m suspicious.”

Chapter 2: The Change in Addy

From that day on, things started to change.

Addy stopped hanging out with Vicky and Ju-Ling. Every lunch, she was with Mia. Mia would always show up with a new, trendy snack—things like artisan chocolate bars or exotic fruit that none of them had ever heard of. Meanwhile, Vicky and Ju-Ling were eating their regular snacks and looking suspiciously at Mia.

Soon, Addy started calling Vicky and Ju-Ling by weird nicknames—“V-Dizzle” for Vicky and “J-Sauce” for Ju-Ling—and they couldn’t help but feel a little left out. They’d walk down the hallway, and Addy would just be there, laughing with Mia, saying things like, “Oh Mia, you’re SO funny! I never met anyone as cool as you!”

Vicky crossed her arms. “Did she just… call me ‘V-Dizzle’?”

Ju-Ling shook her head. “Something’s wrong. Addy never calls us those weird names. It’s like she’s become a completely different person.”

Chapter 3: Mia’s True Colors Show

Vicky and Ju-Ling decided to investigate. They couldn’t just sit back and watch their best friend drift away. Mia was definitely hiding something, and it wasn’t just the cool leather jacket.

Vicky was the first to catch on when Mia was talking to a group of students in the hallway. “Can you believe Addy is so gullible? She actually thinks I like her. She’s totally annoying. I can’t wait to have her all to myself.”

Ju-Ling’s eyes went wide. “Did she just say that? About Addy?”

Vicky gave Ju-Ling a determined look. “Okay. Time for Operation: Expose Mia.”

Chapter 4: The Plan

Vicky and Ju-Ling were not going to let Mia get away with turning Addy against them. They decided they’d need to outsmart her—and have some fun in the process.

First step: They needed to show Addy that Mia wasn’t what she seemed. And how did they plan to do that? By using Mia’s own tricks against her.

Plan #1: The "Perfect Snack" Challenge

Vicky and Ju-Ling knew Mia had a thing for bringing weird, exotic snacks to school. So, they decided to throw the ultimate snack-off to expose her.

On the next lunch break, Vicky and Ju-Ling set up a snack table in the cafeteria. They invited everyone to join and taste-test "cool, new snacks."

Ju-Ling had a secret weapon: bacon-flavored ice cream. Vicky had cheese-flavored cookies. As soon as Mia walked over, her eyes narrowed, and she crossed her arms.

“You guys think you can outdo me?” she said, smirking.

“You bet we can, Mia!” Vicky grinned, holding up a tray of mystery-flavored jellybeans. “These will blow your mind.”

Mia, trying to look unbothered, picked up a bacon ice cream cone. She took a big bite—and immediately gagged. Her face turned green.

“Ugh! This is disgusting! Who even eats this?” she yelled, flinging the ice cream across the room.

Addy, who was standing nearby, gasped. “Mia! You don’t have to be so dramatic.”

But it was too late. The rest of the cafeteria erupted in laughter. Mia’s cool image was starting to crack.

Chapter 5: The Big Reveal

Vicky and Ju-Ling were feeling pretty good about the snack challenge, but they knew it wasn’t enough. They had to do more to prove that Mia wasn’t as nice as she seemed.

Vicky came up with another plan: The “Kindness Challenge”. The idea was simple: Mia would have to do a random act of kindness in front of the whole school. The catch? It had to be genuine, and it had to be in front of everyone.

Vicky, Ju-Ling, and Addy were all sitting in the library when Mia walked in, holding her usual cool-girl swagger.

Vicky stood up, smiling sweetly. “Mia! It’s time for the Kindness Challenge!”

Mia rolled her eyes. “I don’t do challenges. But fine. What do I have to do?”

“You have to make someone else’s day better—without being sarcastic or mean!” Vicky said with a huge grin.

Mia scoffed but reluctantly agreed. “Fine. I’ll give it a shot.”

Mia went to the first person she saw—a little kid trying to carry a stack of books— and immediately grabbed the books, saying, “Oh wow, you’re so weak. Why would you carry all this? Here, let me take these so you don’t mess up your perfect hair.”

Everyone stared in horror.

Vicky whispered to Ju-Ling, “This is not what I had in mind!”

The little kid’s face fell, and Mia didn’t even notice. It was clear she wasn’t genuinely kind—she was still all about herself.

Chapter 6: The Final Showdown

It was time to confront Mia. Addy needed to know the truth, and Vicky and Ju-Ling had everything they needed to expose her.

“Addy!” Vicky called, waving her over. “We need to talk.”

Addy walked over, looking slightly annoyed. “What is it, Vicky? I’m trying to hang out with Mia.”

“Mia’s been pretending this whole time,” Ju-Ling said, stepping forward. “She’s not your friend. She just wants to make you look bad so she can take your place!”

Addy blinked, confused. “What? No! She’s just cool—way cooler than you two.”

Vicky held up her phone, playing a recording of Mia saying: “I can’t wait to get rid of Addy. She’s so annoying.”

Addy’s face went pale. “She said that? About me?”

Ju-Ling nodded. “She’s been pretending to be your best friend just to take you away from us!”

Finally, Addy realized the truth. She turned to Mia, who was trying to act cool, but now looked guilty.

“You tricked me,” Addy said, her voice hurt. “I thought you were my friend.”

Mia just shrugged. “Whatever. I never wanted to be friends with those two losers anyway.”

Addy stood tall. “You know what, Mia? You’re not cool. You’re just mean. I’m going back to my real friends.”

Chapter 7: Back to Normal

Addy walked away from Mia and over to Vicky and Ju-Ling, who both smiled and hugged her.

“I’m sorry I didn’t believe you guys earlier,” Addy said, feeling embarrassed. “You were right about Mia all along.”

Vicky grinned. “It’s okay. We’ve got your back.”

Ju-Ling nodded. “We’re a team, remember?”

And just like that, Addy was back with her real friends—Vicky and Ju-Ling—where she belonged.

As for Mia? She never showed up again. Guess she wasn’t as cool as she thought.
