A Prayer for Africa

I  grew up in Rhodesia, which is now known as Zimbabwe. My father was a South African and our ties to that country were strong. I attended Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa, where I made lifelong friends. In 1980, when Rhodesia became Zimbabwe, my husband and I decided it was time for us to leave our beloved country. His brother lived in the USA, and encouraged us to move over here. It was evident that South Africa would eventually end up in a similar situation to Zimbabwe. This process developed slowly, but there are definite indications that South Africa will follow in Zimbabwe’s footsteps.
