Writing began after retiring from twenty years as a Safety Health Officer with the U.S. Public Health Service, with duty stations with the FDA and the Indian Health Service in Pembina, North Dakota, and Toppenish, Washington. I have had poems published in Pasque Petals and essays in anthologies, and my writings have been recognized in literature contests at the South Dakota State Fair. Writing has been therapeutic for me, helping me share and document my thoughts on life and living.
