Is your food and drinks sending you down rabbit holes?

Did you ever notice life was like an Alice n Wonderland story? Pretty packages on our foods and drinks that basically say eat me or drink me! While they send you down a rabbit hole craving more? Maybe the white bunny stands for sugar. And the world is constantly chasing it. The bunny keeps running because we newer seem to satisfy the sugar or food cravings.

Since as far back as I could remember as a child I was given fast food. Once I lived on my own when I was 19 I started to try to eat healthier and cut out fast foods. I noticed when I went back to fast foods I would get sick, throw up or I was in pain.

So I cut out fast foods out of my life and only a couple times a year going somewhere like KFC because I don’t get sick from their food. When I cut out fast foods, I thought I was healthy. However processed food is a whole other animal entirely! Did you know alcohol is considered an ultra processed food? Have you ever wondered what was in the pretty packaging or cocktails that people drink? Did you know that it’s processed by fermenting or distilling grains? Or the body thinks it’s a toxin and tries to process it and how hard your body works to achieve this goal? I have been sober for 10 years now because of how sick it was making me. Did you know the FDA has limited jurisdiction over what they can regulate in alcohol. So no one has absolutely no idea what they are drinking. Some people may blame their food for how they are feeling. They don’t want to stop and consider it could be the combination of food and alcohol.

We live in a fast paced society run by pretty slogans and nicely crafted packages. Everything is fake. Processed food is not real. When I stopped eating fast foods, I thought I was healthy. However I still had chocolate at times. Chocolate is not only processed it can contain toxins. They contain heavy metals and leads. I stopped eating chocolate a few years ago. However I’m just finding this out now about chocolate. The toxins are absorbed from the cacao tree. And people try to promote that like it’s the new healthy thing to eat straightening cacao. If you started to wake up and look into what you’re eating, would you change anything? Or would you say make the excuse that most Americans make and say well everything is bad for you? But that’s a lie. Processed food and alcohol is killing people. Sometimes in order to change we need our bodies to react in order for this change to happen.

It’s sad that pizza is processed because I always loved pizza. That is the one thing that I didn’t cut out until recently. Processed foods started making me sick. That is the reason I’m writing this. Pizza was my friend since I was a child. To part with a friend that you have known for so long is not easy but when you start getting physically ill, something has to change. It’s not just pizza, it’s popcorn, chips, even tacos now make me sick. It’s more recently that Its become worse. It makes you wonder are they putting something extra in our foods? It’s not just me I’ve spoken to others about this that getting sick from processed foods as well.

If you’re careful with what you put on your skin and body, what about your food? And your drink? Maybe this is something we should all be doing before it’s too late and your body fights back and you become ill. It’s not just stomach aches and throwing up that you have to worry about its diseases and addictions as well. Is all of this worth it?

We leave in non achievable society and no matter how fast you run after that bunny your not going to catch it. No matter how fast and long you run on that hamster wheel you’re not going to catch up. Society makes it impossible I think for a reason. Who made up the 8 hour work days and high taxes etc. they do this to control and confine people and invented fast foods and they put so many additional ingredients that we have no idea about in our foods and drinks. Our long work days make us tired so we are not so aware of what’s in our foods. We don’t always have the time to stop and think or look at what we’re consuming. We are always running. I think now more than ever we have to invest in ourselves. In our health and well being. Don’t wait until it’s to late where your in pain, or have a disease or issues with your blood pressure . I’ve only brushed upon this subject of processed foods on your body. Did you know they have an effect on your mind as well? It’s also the cause of anxiety and depression. Caffeine actually disrupts your circadian rhythm. It changes your core temperature, it raises it. It blocks Adenosine. It makes you feel tired. It makes you ungrounded and you appear crazy at times. I’ve met people that when they drink coffee they talk so fast that I can’t understand them and it’s scary. I will never forget the time I went to Starbucks and had a caffeine overdose. I ordered a decaf drink. I don’t drink coffee always hated the taste but flavored drinks that were decaf I would have sometimes. Well I went to Starbucks and ordered a decaf drink just one drink. Not long after I started talking fast and feeling jittery. I felt like I was shaking. I drove home and I noticed I was sweating and then I felt like I was hallucinating. At this point my heart was racing. I started to drink a lot of water. Literally I took a jug of water and kept drinking to flush my system. I then kept jumping in the shower because I was sweating and heating up. I felt like I was drugged. I called my doctor the next day and they told me I experienced a caffeine overdose. I said my god I had one drink that was supposed to be a decaf drink. Do you know the caffeine they put in their drinks is anywhere from 75-400 mg? That’s insane. I ordered a decaf Carmel macchiato. That has between 150- 220 mg of caffeine. Or whatever they decide to put in. We don’t pay attention to that either. Well we can’t really see what they are doing behind the counter. They can mix your drink up with someone else’s or they could be in a hurry and add too much caffeine.

I wrote this to make more awareness to these topics. I feel most people laugh things off until they become sick. Then things are not so funny anymore. I know this from experience.
