James Sclater was
born in Mobile, Alabama, in 1943 and attended the University of Southern
Mississippi and the University of Texas at Austin. He taught
at Mississippi
College for 40 years, retiring in 2010. He is a composer and
clarinetist
with avocational interests in writing, photography and cooking. He
is
married to Judy Davis of Columbia, MS.
