Frank Balch Mann was born and raised in Fort Myers, (Lee County) Florida.  He lived most of his adult life just 10 miles outside of town in Alva, Florida, in a beautiful setting on the Caloosahatchee River.  He served in the Florida legislature for many years and ran for Governor at one time. After leaving state services he served on the Lee County Board of Comissioners for many years up until his death in June of 1922. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lee Ferguson Mann, and two sons, Franklin Mann, Jr., and Ian F. Mann. He was my best friend for over 60 years and I miss his more than I would have thought possible.
