The sky is no longer the limit as a human being. We have to push the boundaries because contrary to what people think, I consider myself to be an infinitely multidimensional specimen. With precise ideals and objectives. Because without them I remain a dead leaf which inexorably takes the direction of the wind.
My
journey is atypical, I aspire to a heroic adventure while continuing
to write epic verses. Throughout my life, I have had some ups and
some downs. My life is priceless, that I know. It
is also immeasurable because despite the setbacks, people envy
without knowing the harshness of what I feel deep inside, in my guts.
“My life is all I have” It has too much
value in my eyes. I am a man of value. This is the definition of my
first name EZZEDINE.
My
last name is MORITADAR. Since my childhood, throughout my school
career, I have always been the object of curiosities. My friends, the
teachers have always paid special attention to me. Born in Ivory Coast,
at the end of the 70s, to parents who
were themselves born in Ivory Coast, with Nigerian origins (Osun
State). I grew up in a rather calm but strict environment. A
polygamous family made up of 36 children, 5 women and a head of the
family, our beloved father who passed away in the month of July 1987.
At home, we were spoken to in our mother tongue (Yoruba) and English.
Islam has always been the compass within my family. I will never forget
the captivating
melodies of Oum Kalsoum (The Star of the Orient) that we listened to
and re-listened to all day long.
After
primary school at EPP Sogefiha 5, Mahou high school, I obtained a bac
D at the Adzopé modern high school in 1998. I pursued law
studies which I unfortunately did not finish due to administrative
problems. It never stopped me from continuing to learn, to grow.
As the saying goes: WHY STAY WE ON EARTH EXCEPT TO GROW.
I was a merchant for nine years at the Belleville market. With my older sister, I kept the accounts for my mother's store. I also worked as a teacher in Abidjan and Lagos. At Unilag (University of Lagos), in Lagos, I was also a columnist on the university radio during 2014.
When I returned to Abidjan, I did some odd jobs. Two years later, I was co-opted by a Ghanaian structure SKYPATH to fulfill obligations as an interpreter for six months. After this episode, I still did odd jobs, before being recruited in 2020, as an interpreter, by the STTB company. A company that operates in Civil Engineering. I worked with the company until August 2023. I took advantage of this experience to learn reinforcement. A discipline of civil engineering, seen as the basis, the prerequisite of any building. I am a writing enthusiast; you know as I do, to excel in this compartment, you must be a keen reader and have all-round lexical background.
Rapper,
poet, singer and activist with a huge thirst for evolution.
On a musical level, my greatest satisfaction remains the group MOZA which I co-created with MANUSA. We did not have the expected success. But today I am still proud of it. We had rage in the 2000s. And this rage is far from fading.
We revolutionized the Ivorian underground. All identified with the MOZA group. What a wonderful time! People I often meet remind me of this epic.
I
think the Almighty has decided otherwise since I am not responsible
for the group members' travels. The main reason for the crumbling of
MOZA. A few months later a new baby was
born. TREICHOVER (cultural and artistic association) whose sole aim
was to fight against social problems through art projects. Several
shows (in the streets and avenues of Treichville) were organized. We
tried, we resisted but alas... The banana peels, the evil
eye of certain relatives left us with a rather bitter taste.
My friends and colleagues at Kalakuta Music always wanted me to control the Marketing-Communication department of the label. It seems that I have this indescribable mania for getting in touch with people. KMG (Kalakuta Music Group) is one of the groups of the Kalakuta Music label association born in 2015 thanks to the collaboration of several artists and musicians. The logical continuation of Fêla Anikulapo Kuti's fight. We feel like a revolutionary hero in a universe where banger clubs dictate their law. Artists with a rebellious soul, the emancipation of black people is our source of inspiration, the fight against oppression, colonization and corruption.
From then on, I dug into the depths of my being to breathe new life into my life. I went to Lagos several times. I got to know my parents, my culture, my roots, my other self better. I always knew that succeeding in music would open more doors for me. On the other hand, I never understood why I couldn't reach the charts. The answer is undoubtedly found in the metaphysical and spiritual sphere. Time passes, the music grows in me, it improves like an old wine. Some parents think I've failed in my life. Brilliant at school, I opted for music. Which music does not yet give me financial satisfaction.
I
am now 46 years old. But I still believe in it... Because he who does
not
have faith in himself is beaten twice in the race of life as MARCUS
GARVEY said.
This quote tames all those vain thoughts of protest that dare to minimize my ambitions.
We often feel bad seeing our little brothers shine in this music industry; and we realize that there is something that has not been done. But I understood that each of us on this earth responds to what we call the personal calling in other words The Personal Calling or Personal Legend. It’s the path God has chosen for you on earth. So I play my role in the matrix.
I am a warrior of light, armed with patience, even in lean times. Because I know the universe is conspiring in my favor. Pleasure and desire are shared. Only one team wins. According to RALPH W. EMERSON “When it’s dark enough men see stars”. I am part of this race. Even with empty pockets, I feel rich.
Ideas abound everywhere, ambition is oversized. I feel capable. Inside me burns a motivating flame. Successful people keep going, they don't stop, they make mistakes but they never give up. The phrase from Boston Celtics legend LARRY BIRD always comes to mind. “I push myself again, again, .I don’t give an inch until the final buzzer sounds. » He probably said this sentence to galvanize me during moments of doubt.
I
would also like to organize conferences and run workshops in order to
get my message across to my little brothers. There is an emergency
looming on the horizon. A revolution is sweeping across Africa at the
moment.
Pan-Africanism is the ultimate way out of African backwardness. The
African has a role to play which will necessarily
involve self-acceptance as a black person. Then the contribution of
its contribution to the elevation of our mentalities for the
establishment of states where the general interest alone takes
precedence.
One day a friend asked me if I wanted Kalakuta Music to become the Ivorian version of DON JAZZY's Mavin Records. I replied: Bigger than Mavin Records. I have always nourished this ambition; create a bridge between Lagos and Abidjan. The 2 countries which are very dear to me and which have a lot in common.
Thank
God, I have become a rap monster. A mc who has a knack for making
hits. How do I know that what I'm writing now will be a hit later? I
just feel it. I've grown up, matured, I continue on this path. If
experience is the best teacher, travel is also a good teacher.
Dreams flow in abundance, I hold on whatever the weather but I must
make them come true: it’s a must. I am gradually expanding my
field of action. I am adding strings to my bow. I want to learn
everything
that correlates with the show and the business, the music industry.
From
now on I am playing solo. From 2020 to 2023, I released an EP album
(Prefa Poutre) exclusively reserved for Civil Engineering, 3 mixtapes
and 3 video clips.
I’m a diamond, yes I am a black diamond like Youssouf Fofana, the child of Mankono. E.Diamonds (Eledumare Diamonds) a.k.a. Ezzdean Duane. At first I was like a piece of coal. The difference between me and the lump of coal is the end result. I was faced with intense pressure, it gave me an indestructible mentality. In the end I became beautiful and filled with values such as: patience, sharing, honesty and work. I have several facets, these are the beautiful colors that I emit each time my pen or my verb is put to use. I am an M.V.P. Because the difficult times and rough moments developed my character and now I feel precious and strong. Ready to sparkle, to shine. Soon everyone will want me, everyone will want Ezzdean Duane.
