Midville USA--The Town That Cried (Were)Wolf
Ode to Gleeville...

Emmet Kelley's career background is largely in the journalism field, mainly with my hometown newspaper, the Daytona Beach News-Journal [for which, among other beats, I did crime reporting, which experience is evident in my submission, “Midville: The Town That Cried (Were)wolf”, a nonsupernatural detective story.]

Have also published occasional whodunits in local magazines and pulp magazines,  in years past. My essay “How Roger Penmark Got His Muse Back”, about an ex-science reporter has life-altering preternatural epiphanies, won national  honorable mention in  a  Storyhouse Preservation essay contest. Also over the years have done considerable freelance journalistic articles, for such prestige magazines as World & I Online Journal [see attached personality profile published in 2017 in World & I, “Gene LaNier: Renaissance Man, Not ‘Mad Man’, of Public Relations Profession”, as writing sample]. Have also contributed articles and stories to national  and regional magazines such as   CHRISTIAN LIVING for MATURE YEARS, Florida Historical Quarterly, Chronicle of Higher Education, PLANNING,  Golden Years of Florida,  numerous others.
