This is the story of Charlie, the new cat I adopted after Puffer's death. Charlie was adopted from the local Humane Society where he had been brought in with his mother after being abandoned. Charlie, the spitting image of his mother who's name was "Midnight", was thirteen weeks old when we got him. He continues to warm our hearts and make us laugh with his silly "kitten" antics even at seven and a half years old.

Charlie is a cute and cuddly black cat with a few white splooches on his tummy and under his neck. He is very much a lap cat. If there's a lap available, Charlie will curl up on it.

Charlie is also what his owner Erin would call a 'shoulder cat'  he'll perch on a shoulder and stay there.

He also has jumped from the floor into Erin's arms and onto her back. When he's jumped onto her back he has 'scared' her mostly because She wasn't ready.

Charlie had been abandoned north of Erin's hometown with his mom and brought to the local Humane Society. He was around 13 weeks old when they adopted him.

He was the one who chose Erin as an owner. She had been looking at another kitten and this little guy reached out to me with his paw and smacked her.

Erin knew right then he was the kitten for she and her family. Charlie also has very loud vocal cords. Anyone in Erin's family will say you can hear him purring a mile a way!

When Charlie was a kitten he was a little afraid of little children and a little jealous as well. In July 1992, Erin had had her 9 week old cousin visiting with his mom and dad and, well everyone was paying attention to the baby and ignoring Charlie.

Charlie didn't take that very well so he went up to the baby and gave him a little nip. The baby didn't feel anything and Charlie was put in the basement as 'punishment' He never did that again!

Since he's 7 1/2 years old now, he as grown acustomed to children and anytime little ones come he plays with them, but makes it clear when he wants them to leave him alone.

Charlie also is somewhat of a show off. He loves balloons so when someone throws one in the air, "Mr. Accrobat" would leap in the air and bat it and then play with it.

He is rather strange too, instead of regular toys, he likes pipe cleaners that are bent in the shape of a circle. That is the kind of toy he likes to play with (go figure). He also fetches like a dog.
