Story Contest Winners

This year we had three categories--biographical nonfiction. general nonfiction and travel nonfiction.
My first job was to reduce the many fine entries to a handfull in each category.  This, as always, was a hard job. But it was necessary so that the three outside judges would have a managable number of stories to read.  The real pang, of course, is that we can't acknowledge all the fine stories that just missed out.
The first prize in each category is $100.  Winners, runners-up, and honorable mentions all receive attractive certificates of achievement.
I hope all who took part in these contests will take the time to read these fine stories.  I think they'll inspire you to keep working at your craft.  Next year the winner could be you!
And, if you didn't take part in the contest this year, consider trying your hand at it.  We are open for 2015 contest entries right now!   To learn how to enter click here.
